Introduction
At Emidat, we are building the first climate-native product management system for building material manufacturers. We aim to decarbonise building materials, which make up 11% of global GHG emissions. We collect data from physical production processes, generate a digital product passport with verified environmental data and make it usable along the value chain. In short: One solution to assess, design, buy, sell and manage products - with environmental impact at the core.
With this, we are building the digital infrastructure to make it faster, easier, and more sustainable to build the world around us.
Tasks
- You will be our first full-time Frontend Engineer and set the technical direction for the entire frontend codebase and architecture.
- You will build a basis upon which all other team members can do high-quality frontend contributions, at scale.
- You will leverage your experience in web development to teach and mentor your peers, becoming the go-to person for all frontend-related topics.
- You will bring perspective how agentic user interfaces will influence web development, and act as the key player in building towards this future.
- As a Senior Engineer on this team, you'll own the full product loop; discovery conversations, forming hypotheses, shipping, and measuring.
- You will partner with our 'Product Design' team to evolve our design system, utilising your strong understanding of what makes up great design and UX.
- Take full ownership over complex, ambiguous projects: define requirements, navigate trade-offs, and drive delivery. Specifically, building out the capabilities of "Emigo", our home-grown AI assistant, and ship agentic user interfaces that transform how our customers get work done with Emidat.
- Prototype and develop new applications from zero to one that unlock new value for our customers.
- Take technical ownership of our component library, including maintaining components and contributions, expanding documentation, and evangelizing its use across the team.
- Coach other engineers on system architecture and web fundamentals, as well as help us invest in tooling, processes, and abstractions that multiply the team's output.
- Identify issues others don't see, and turn them into actionable proposals.
Requirements
- Proven track record of owning and driving impactful product initiatives end-to-end, shaping frontend architecture and defining engineering standards in a 'Senior / Staff' level role.
- Expertise in TypeScript with deep expertise in frameworks for creating scalable web applications like React (strongly preferred), Angular, Vue or Svelte.
- Created, maintained, and contributed to design systems or component libraries.
- Experience thriving in a fast-moving environment where priorities and direction can shift quickly, and is ready to pivot when the data points a new way. Ideally demonstrable from experience in a start-up or scale-up environment.
- Experienced in leveraging AI to accelerate product development.
- Fluent English (C1+).
- Domain knowledge or professional exposure to adjacent sectors, such as Climate/Sustainability, Construction Tech, or Manufacturing, or Compliance.
- Experience having created agentic user interfaces.
- Strong and demonstrable UI/UX judgement with good understanding of best practices and anti-patterns.
Benefits
- Attractive compensation package including VSOP (for FTEs)
- 25 days of vacation days per year
- €2,000 Learning Budget
